In 2011 I was awarded a music project residency by the Dunmoochin Foundation for the arts where I recorded an EP and wrote over 20 new songs. Often described as "folka-dot-pop" or "Joni Mitchell-esque", my new material has been well received by band bookers, the Dunmoochin Foundation and my growing fan base at large.
Lacking the funds to make a record I have only had the opportunity to perform these songs in a live capacity. Now I’d like to create a full length album, and enhance the songs with additional harmonies and instrumentation. In a style similar to the music I recorded on my EP, 72 Cents will be a album of vintage inspired songs with relevant lyrics for today. The album will explore themes such as frugality, superficiality, body issues, following your dreams and other social commentaries on living. At times humorous, at other times desperate, 72 Cents aims to be an album the gets to the centre of the issue with carefully thought out lyrics.
